Report from the first part of the voyage

After a nice crossing of the north sea we arrived safely in Kirkwall, Orkneys on Friday the 1. of July. We where greeted by the local population, the Norwegian council, Norway Orkney friendship association and the Orkney Sailing Club. After spending 4 days in Orkney, we planned to head to Stromness on Tuesday, but due to heavy winds we spent the day repairing and working on the boat instead. We apologize to the people in Stromness that waited for our arrival, but sometimes the weather stops us.
Wednesday morning we headed out from Kirkwall. We got the most heartwarming send off, with bagpipes and people seeing us off. We have to admit to more than just a few tears on deck that morning.
We want to say a big thank you to everyone in the Orkneys that made our stay so memorable. The Norwegian council, the Sailing club, the Friendship association and not to be forgotten. all the people that came to talk to us and give us advice, presents, greetings, and everything else. We certainly will not forget you, and we have to say thank you so much and hope to see you again!
