Report from the fourth part of the voyage

Dublin

In Dublin we stayed at the Dublin dockland development agency. We had an open boat for a few days with lots of visitors. The Dublinia museum helped us with the arrangements for the open boat, and deserves a great thank you. We also had a great reception from the city of Dublin and the National museum that hosted an arrangement in The national museum, where we had the pleasure of meeting the Lord Mayor of Dublin and representatives from the Norwegian embassy. We all had a chance to see the National museum when we where in Dublin, and we where all impressed. We also have to thank the representative from the Norwegian Irish business council that has helped us so much during our stay both in Dublin and later in Wexford. Mr. Svein Bromark, thank you for all your help.

Wexford

We reached Wexford the 25 of July after a nice sail. We had good wind and could sail almost all the way. After a long trip into Wexford harbour we where welcomed by Mora from the Wexford National Heritage Park and Thea from visit Vestfold. Since we arrived a bit early we stayed in the harbour of Wexford for a couple of days. We used our days cleaning the boat, doing food shopping and a bit of sightseeing. The official welcome from the city of Wexford took place a few days later and featured a dancing school that danced traditional Irish dances and lots of people from the local community. Thank you for the great reception. After a few days we moved the boat up to the Heritage Park after removing the mast to be able to move under two bridges and moored outside the Pub The Oak tavern. The pub owner was very agreeable and helped us with showers and washing machines and everything else that he could help us with. Thank you Kieron. The next day the Borre Viking team from Norway arrived. We helped them rig up their big tent, and they set up camp with almost 70 people and 15 viking tents. We had an official reception in the park, with the Lord Mayor present and representatives both from Norway and Ireland. We also had a Celtic Banquet the next day. The Irish re-enactment Vikings had arrived and we all had a good time together. The Irish and the Norwegian Vikings put up a great market and we also had a lot of visitors to the boat. The Heritage park had a lot of visitors during the weekend. On Monday afternoon we moved the boat down to a sailing club near Wexford where we are now waiting for the mast to come on to the boat again tomorrow morning.
